While Buffalo Trace is an easy sipper, as one would expect for a 90 proof bourbon, it lacks any depth of flavor.

Detailed Tasting Notes
Nose Review - Rating: 79
The nose of Buffalo Trace starts off with a very evident ethanol smell. After 30 seconds you start to smell the spice, a little cinnamon, and then the alcohol again. Then, back to a very mild cinnamon aroma. After I took a sip or two and let it sit for a minute, the traditional caramel nose comes through much stronger. It seems like the nose gets better the longer the Bourbon is in the glass.
Palate Review - Rating: 73
The palate is a little dull. Slightly spicy with a medium to strong alcohol taste that is slightly heavier than the 90 proof. There’s not much viscosity. It’s a little thin.
Finish Review - Rating: 70
Short finish that is devoid of flavor, but has a little bit of heat.
Uniqueness Review - Rating: 73
There is nothing unique about Buffalo Trace.
Value Review - Rating: 75
At a $29.99 retail, I guess it is priced where it should be...maybe a little high. Unfortunately, because it has the BT name, taters are making it more difficult to find.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
