The nose of Larceny Barrel Proof A122 is rich and creamy, with mild cinnamon or wheat spice. This bourbon smells heavy if that makes sense. While the aroma is not intense, it feels like you can chew it.
Wow, OK! Larceny Barrel Proof A122 bourbon starts hot; with a salted butter and creamy caramel palate. There is some nuttiness too. Did I mention that it's hot? If it weren't for the medium viscosity and its cream in this, this would be a little too hard to tolerate. The palate eventually settles in with a creamy black pepper taste.
Unfortunately, the heat of this hides much of the flavor. I don't think this lives up to the Larceny Barrel Proof batches of 2021, with batch B521 being my favorite.
The finish continues the palate's notes and has an enjoyable medium to long length.
Did I mention that it's hot? I will revisit Larceny Barrel Proof A122 in a couple of weeks to see if settles down.
