Detailed Tasting Notes
Nose Review - Rating: 85
Larceny Barrel Proof B521 starts with a mildly decadent caramel aroma. The aroma hits you soon as you open the bottle. There's a gentle undercurrent of spicy cinnamon that undoubtedly comes from the wheat, which is the second-highest percentage grain in this mash bill. The nose smells rich and chewy. Batch B521 seems to have the best nose of the three batches of 2021.
Palate Review - Rating: 88
The first sip is hot, hot. Despite the heat, you immediately taste a creamy dark toffee flavor under it. Toasted oak, cinnamon, and heat punch you in the face on the second sip. There is nothing mild about a Larceny Barrel Proof Batch B521. It's an aggressive and rich bourbon that provides a beautiful tasting experience.
Finish Review - Rating: 85
The finish is a reflection of the palate in many ways; toasted oak and brown sugar cinnamon. Warm and long.
Uniqueness Review - Rating: 85
For a wheated bourbon, Larceny Barrel Proof Batch B521 has a consistently good and rich tasting experience.
Value Review - Rating: 90
The wonderful thing about this bourbon is that I found it at retail price. For something this good, that is a rarity.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
