Detailed Tasting Notes
Nose Review - Rating: 79
The nose of Weller Antique 107 begins with an exciting caramel, oak, and mint blend. It's pleasant but is not decisive. I picked up other notes on the nose when I let the glass sit for a while, and then some sweetness came to the fore.
Palate Review - Rating: 83
The palate is tasty from the beginning. You have a repeat of the caramel, oak, and mint, but the flavor intensity is more lavish than on the nose, and now there is an added sweetness. These combine with a friendly and creamy mouth feel to create a pleasant initial tasting experience. Weller Antique 107 also has an astringent sharpness that I have come to expect with many wheated bourbons. It drinks right on its 107 proof.
Finish Review - Rating: 80
The finish is of moderate length and continues with the caramel, oak, and mint theme, along with a little dried tobacco.
Uniqueness Review - Rating: 77
Sure, it is overhyped like most Buffalo Trace products, but it's a solid pour.
Value Review - Rating: 82
I'll grade the value on its MSRP of $49.99. At this price point, Weller Antique 107 is a solid tasting experience.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
