Woodinville 100% Rye Whiskey Private Select Single Barrel is a bad boy on this initial pour. Full of Flavor and character from the nose to the finish. Let's look at some specifics of this Local Vine Atlanta selected barrel in this review.

Detailed Tasting Notes
Nose Review - Rating: 85
Minty, brown sugar, and rye spice aromas are present from the bottle's opening. There are also cherry notes harmonized into this chewy, rich, and decadent rye whisky. Eventually, some floral notes emerge with brown sugar, honey, and oak. After I started sipping this Woodinville Rye Whiskey Private Select Single Barrel, I could sense the ethanol on the nose. It's interesting how some whiskeys can toggle between fruitiness and floral nature.
Palate Review - Rating: 87
This excellent Woodinville rye was initially spicy and hot with a sweet, creamy texture. There was sweet and spicy mint from the first taste, combined with black peppercorn. Honey texture and sweetness with salted caramel. I love this balance between the spicy heat and creamy sweetness. I am unsure if that balance is typical of a 100% rye, but this one touches all bases. Thick, hot, spicy, and honey-sweet, my initial response of unexpected pleasure continued. Woodinville 100% Rye Private Select Single Barrel is bold and aggressive, seemingly settling into an oak and brown sugar theme.
Finish Review - Rating: 85
Sweet black pepper and mint. Once it hits the back of your throat, the heat shines. Woody oak. The spice starts to dominate on the finish the longer or deeper you get into the tasting experience.
Uniqueness Review - Rating: 82
The complexity and quality of Woodinville 100% Rye Private Select Single Barrel make this a unique rye whiskey.
Value Review - Rating: 83
I would buy this every time at the retail price of around $79.00.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
